Simple Mother’s Day Celebration Ideas

Celebrating Mother’s Day doesn’t have to be hard work, complicated, expensive, or filled with activities that only tire us out more. I’m not aware of anything more fulfilling and exhausting than being a mom and with every little glimpse of happiness comes the burden of carrying for someone that depends fully on you.
The realization that we’re not perfect moms and that we will fail our children is enough some sleepover but we usually snap out of it and accept that failing doesn’t mean FAILURE, it means we’re trying.
So it’s our day and I salute every one of you, for the little people you are raising to be contributing members of society, I’m glad I’m doing motherhood with you.
Although nothing really changes on Mother’s Day, we get some extra love sent our way and that’s always a good thing in my book.

Here are some simple ways you can
celebrate the Mom in your life!
Give Mom the Day Off
She wants to do nothing. She has things to do every day already, all she wants is to not be needed. Don’t leave everything for her to do tomorrow, and call that giving her the day off. Let her sleep and shower in peace.
Breakfast in Bed
Eating breakfast in bed is one of those feel-good things that everyone loves. You don’t have to pull out a huge spread, just having a relaxing breakfast in bed is good enough. Bring on the coffee and toast Dear.
At-Home Spa Day
She probably has tons of face creams lying around, if not, there are perfectly good DIY facial masks and scrubs online that you can make on the spot. Treat your home to a special spa day at home, including a nice robe, soy wax candles, draw her a bath with rose petals if possible, I’m partial to milk bubble baths and bath bombs.
Family Walk
If you like that type of thing… Going for walk around the neighborhood after her breakfast in bed will get everyone’s mood in the right direction. So get out there and get some fresh air.
Simple Celebration
You don’t have to splurge to have a nice celebration, you don’t really have to spend anything at all. Make a delicious pasta lunch! Easy, delicious and super affordable for a crowd. (You can check out a delicious recipe here) Buy or pick some flowers along with a hand-made card and you’re good to go.
Here’s a bonus way to celebrate Mom on Mother’s day is by making her a homemade gift like this string art heart I made for my mother! She absolutely loved it.
I’m sure whatever you do for Mother’s Day will make mom a very happy woman. Honoring her on this special day for all the effort she puts into raising her family.
On this note, I leave you with a little poem and wish you a wonderful Mother’s Day surrounded by those you love and cherish the most.
M is for the miracle of Being.
O is for its origin in love.
T is for the tenderness of seeing.
H is for a home no wind can move.
E is for the ecstasy of living.
R is for the recklessness of giving.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love ♥

Ellen, you are SO right that it’s not about the money spent or the extravagance of the gesture. All I wanted for Mother’s Day was a heartfelt gesture, and that’s exactly what I got! Money can’t buy happiness. Happy Mother’s Day!! ❤️

I love these simple suggestions. It is really just about feeling a little extra appreciation. That is so much more important than fancy gift or big gestures!
I hope you had a great Mother’s Day. 🙂
