So my now 6 month old baby has two little teeth and that can only mean baby is irritable, but he is also awake for longer periods of times so that means ENTERTAINMENT!!
Baby Nico is in need of constant attention and definite supervision. He is constantly in motion and when sitting will lunge after what he wants, not knowing he will bust his head open by doing it.
So mama has taken a few precautions and added some new things to keep the little one entertained and out of harms way.
Number 1:
Teething: We’ve been working with Sophie the Giraffe. He loves chewing on that thing. Although he will try to put anything in his mouth, Sophie is safe and effective. Here are some of her qualities.
- Natural Rubber is soft, safe & non-toxic for baby to teethe & chew.
- Lightweight & easy to grasp for tiny hands.
- Painted with non-toxic, food-grade paints.
- Stimulating to a baby’s senses with her soft colors & gentle squeak.
- Sophie the Giraffe is Phthalate-Free with NO Vinyl (no-PVC).
- Bumpy head helps soothe sore, teething gums.
- Sophie makes a soft squeak when squeezed – such fun for a baby!
- Slender, flexible & soft – babies love manipulating & teething Sophie.
- Hand-made in France, Sophie the Giraffe is a classic!
Number 2:
We have a little bed time routine going in the house, which I love. I like structure and knowing when things will happen, something that is not common in parenting so I’m savoring this for what it is, but knowing it can change any time. I want my son to love books and we read nightly this cute little book with animals and their mama’s, he enjoys grabbing it and flipping the hard pages with me and we read it over and over again in case he’s a little too hyper still. So far it has been a hit.
Number 3:
To keep baby busy and have mama be able to do the dishes from time to time lol…. I’ve been getting him to use the Baby Einstein’s Drum. It has three languages (EN, FR, & SP), one setting is for drums, one for numbers and one for colors and it has some music as well as it lights up. He loves it and so do I.
Number 4:
Now to keep baby safe, I’ve been using the Graco Pack n Play. I will surely be using this more often. Baby will start crawling soon and I’ll need to keep him contained a few times. I originally purchased this for travel but it’s been permanently stuck in our living room. If the baby is not in it, it’s a catch all for all of this toys. We didn’t buy the fancier one, just the basic one they had was good enough.
Number 5:
Finally we have his little activity gym, he’s been using this since he was able to have some control over himself and not be asleep all the time. I bought this because it just looks cool.. I mean it’s a ball pit! Who doesn’t like ball pits? I usually buy things that will grow with him. Don’t need things just for a couple of months. It needs to be used or mama ain’t buying it.
Thank you for reading. Hope you all enjoy this list. What are your top used baby items? Does your child have a favorite toy you’ve had to replace a few times?
